KAMAZ Can Become Developer of Marine Corps Fighting Machine


The developer of the Marine Corps fighting machine can be KAMAZ. The Russian Defense Ministry has announced a tender for the creation of the Marine Corps fighting machine. One of the main odds-on favourites is called KAMAZ. Military Units of Amur Region Got Kamaz Trucks


Eastern Command integrated combined arms force located in the Amur region got the first batch of 10 KAMAZ vehicles.

By the end of 2013 the military units located in the Amur region, should get more than 130 units of new vehicles. All four military districts of the Russian Federation will have their own center of innovation.

Initially, the silos design was created by German specialists and then the designers of “MORSHANSKHIMMASH” worked with the technical documentation. This became possible thanks to many years of experience of capacitive equipment manufacturing (including non-standard).

Russia to Build 100 New Military Bases and Airfields


About 100 new defense infrastructure facilities, including airfields and Army and Navy maintenance and supply bases, will be built in Russia to accommodate new weapon systems.

By 2016, 316 garrison towns are to be built, their number due to increase to 495 by 2020, said General Valery Gerasimov, chief of the General Staff of Russia’s Armed Forces, adding that more than 3,000 facilities, including barracks, parking lots, cafeterias, etc., would be built in those locations.

All of those facilities will be put into operation months before new arms and military equipment are delivered, he said. Other installations are slated to include air, land and naval test sites and advanced training centers.

All of that will help significantly enhance personnel training standards and make the Armed Forces more efficient, Gerasimov said.

Russia to Deliver 10 Helicopter Gunships to Iraq


Russia will supply over 10 fully armed and equipped Mi-28NE Night Hunter attack helicopters to Iraq under a multi-billion dollar agreement.

Russia and Iraq signed a $4.3 billion agreement on cooperation in the defense and technology sector in 2012, and this is the first time the number of Night Hunters under the contract has been disclosed.

Alexander Mikheyev, deputy general director at Russia’s state arms exporter Rosoboronexport, said that the helicopter contract also covers pilot and technical personnel training and the delivery of essential weapons systems. This is the first contract with Iraq under the package agreement, he added.

Russia Starts Delivering $1Bln Arms Package to Azerbaijan


Russia has begun delivering tanks, artillery cannons and rocket launchers worth $1 billion to Azerbaijan.

The arms package, signed in a series of contracts between 2011 and 2012, includes nearly 100 T-90C tanks, Smerch and TOS-1A multiple rocket launchers and Msta-A and Vena artillery cannons, said Ruslan Pukhov, director of defense think tank CAST.

Russia has almost completed deliveries of a previous, larger package, estimated by CAST as worth $2 billion to $3 billion and including S-300 missile systems and attack helicopters. Azerbaijan has also announced a $1.6 billion arms deal with Israel.
