Shvabe Improved Tool Microscope

Within the framework of the International Innovation Forum – Exact Measures: Quality and Safety Basis-2014, Shvabe will present the advanced instrumental microscope with the latest software.

The International Forum will be held from 20 to 22 May 2014 in the All-Russian Exhibition Center in Moscow. During the Forum, visitors and participants will see the updated microscope manufactured by the company of Novosibirsk Schwabe-Defense and Protection.

The designers complemented the optical device IMTsL 150 x 75 (2) A with the latest software for the automated processing of measurement results and added some unique video-modules, which shows an image on the computer screen. This system allows reducing the measuring time and automatically enters the results in the protocol, which improves and facilitates the work of the operator.

VSMPO-Avisma Shows Russian Titanium to World

The corporation VSMPO-Avisma presented its products at the 13th International Engine Forum MFD-2014 in Moscow.

A full range of semi-finished titanium products produced by VSMPO-Avisma could be seen at the corporation’s stand, according to the news agency UralPolit.Ru, citing the company’s press service.

The International Engine Forum is one of the biggest events in the world for the machine-building industry. It takes place once every two years.

This year, the forum is taking place April 15-18. The Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, the Russian Chamber of Commerce, and the United Engine Corporation (ODK) supported the event, which saw the participation of more than 100 Russian and foreign companies.

Schwabe-Zurich Presented Lighting Products in Frankfurt

Visitors to the Light & Building 2014 exhibition can see lighting products from the holding company Schwabe. The Russian products will be presented by Schwabe-Zurich, a subsidiary of the holding company.

Light & Building, the largest international lighting exhibit, is taking place March 30-April 4 in Frankfurt. At its booth, Schwabe-Zurich is presenting models of its DS7 and DS8 flat LED traffic, street, and household lights, including the newest sensor lights with motion and sound detectors. The company is also displaying a new line of the modern ceiling lights, which feature an interesting design.

KRET to Create Avionics for New High-Speed Helicopter

The concern Radio-Electronic Technologies (KRET) will present their best developments in the field of helicopter avionics at HeliRussia-2014, an international exhibition for the helicopter industry. The event is to take place May 22-24 at the Crocus Expo exhibition center in Moscow. The most important development KRET will present at the exhibition will be an avionics system for a new high-speed helicopter.

20 enterprises of KRET will participate in HeliRussia-2014, presenting their latest developments in helicopter avionics.

The main showpiece will be an avionics system for a new high-speed helicopter (KBO PSV) that is currently being developed in Russia. It is based on the principles of integrated modular avionics and features an open, adaptive architecture of the onboard computer system. Specialists worked on its design at the Ulyanovsk Engineering Design Bureau, which is part of KRET.

New Shvabe Rifle Scopes Passed Tests

The Novosibirsk factory Shvabe – Defense and Security conducted successful tests of its new rifle scopes.

Two new kinds of scopes were tested: the PSU (a scope with an interchangeable zoom) and the PO1x20PMZ. The task was to verify target accuracy at different magnifications and to determine the effect of the design of the new wide sight in the PO1x20 series on the speed of raising the weapon, as well as testing the benefits of the new reticle.

The tests confirmed the stated specifications of the new scopes, establishing their advantage over other models. For example, the PSU scope when used with a gun showed an increase in target accuracy at 100 and 200 meters. When used with a Pecheneg machine gun, the scope with interchangeable zoom saved ammunition and increased the target accuracy regardless of the magnification.

RosElectronics to Assemble Products for Ford

The concern RosElectronics, which is part of the state corporation Rostec, and the Japanese company Hitachi are planning to assemble telematics modules for Ford automobiles.

“We have developed a plan with the Japanese corporation Hitachi to localize in Russia the production of telematics modules (TCU) for Ford automobiles assembled in Russia,” the report says.

The first batch of modules will be assembled in 2016, with serial production beginning by 2017.

According to Andrei Zverev, CEO of RosElectronics, the platform for localization will be established at the Kaluga Factory for Telegraph Equipment (KZTA).

Technopromexport Signed New Agreements with Angola

Technopromexport will work on capital repairs and set-up of the basic equipment of the second unit of the African hydro-power plant Capanda Dam. The company will also occupy itself with the supply of spare parts and materials. The corresponding contracts have been recently signed with the Ministry of Energy and Water Resources of the Republic of Angola.

Major repairs will be made on the second hydroelectric unit of the power station. By its end, the TPE will perform basic equipment set-up, and will supply spare parts. This work will extend over the course of 2014.

“Schwabe” Science City to be Created in Tatarstan

In Tatarstan on the platform “Smart City Kazan” will be created an innovative engineering center – science city “Schwabe”. Project was discussed by the President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and CEO of the Rostec optical holding “Schwabe” Sergei Maxine.

During the meeting, Sergei Maxine said that already “road map” of the project . President of Tatarstan, in his turn, suggested that a working group should be created for its phased development.

The project of optoelectronic engineering center creation – City of Science “Schwabe” was presented in Kazan in October 2013 during the visiting session of the Military-Industrial Commission under the Government of Russia with the participation of Deputy Prime Minister Dmitry Rogozin.

KRET to Implement 192 New Projects

Between 2014-2016 KRET enterprises will implement 192 new projects. This allows to raise the output of innovative products by more than 75% during three years.

Under this program of action in 2014 KRET will invest a total of RUB 20.9 billion in the modernization of the Concern’s enterprises as well as into research and development. In 2015 another RUB 16.8 billion will be invested and in 2016 – RUB 20.3 billion.

According to Concern’s CEO Nikolay Kolesov, KRET’s program of action for 2014-2016 is oriented at the large-scale renovation of production facilities. Nikolay Kolesov reported, “We will implement innovations not only at the production stage, but also in the new product development stage.  This will allow us to offer systems and equipment to our partners that are able to compete effectively with foreign counterparts.”

According to him, this will help to boost sales and increase market share in priority market segments on both the domestic Russian market and abroad.

Rostec and General Electric to Invest in Gas-Turbine Plant Construction in Rybinsk

Investments in the construction of a gas-turbine plant in Rybinsk, which will begin operation already starting in the summer of 2014, will total EUR 120 million. Viktor Belyaev, Director in Charge of Development of Gas Development at Inter RAO, provided details to ITAR-TASS.

The construction of the plant to produce gas turbine generators represents the beginning of a new stage in the development of Russian electricity-generation capacity. New generators are able to significantly increase the efficiency of regional energy complexes.

The production capacity of the new factory will allow for satisfying growing demand for high-performance power-generation units for the combined production of heat and electricity.

Construction of the factory began in the fall of 2012 as part of a joint venture between Rostec, GeneralElectric and Inter RAO UES Russian Gas Turbines. Rostec’s interests in the joint venture are represented by the United Engine Corporation. GE controls a 50% share in the Russian Gas Turbines partnership, and Inter RAO UES and UEC each possess a 25% share.
