“Rosoboronexport” begins execution of the contract for arms supply to Iraq. The contract was signed between Moscow and Baghdad in Autumn of 2012.

As the head of Rostekhnadzor Sergey Chemezov said during the visit to Jordan, the contract with Iraq came into force, and production of weapons had begun.

In October 2012 during the visit of Iraqi Prime Minister Nouri al-Maliki in Moscow a package deal for $ 4.2 billion was signed between the two countries. In April, the Iraqi side stated that supplies to the country could begin no later than the beginning of June.
Moreover Chemezov stressed that the Libyan authorities have also asked to purchase Russian weapons.

The head of Rostekhnadzor also noted that Russian arms export amouts to 6.5 billion dollars since the beginning of 2013, which is even more than the designated plan.

Chemezov together with Jordan’s King Abdala II opened a factory for the production of “Hashim” RPG-32.
